Rosa... was Dubbed the "City
Designed for Living," It's a great blend of art, culture,
shopping, food, fun wine and recreation.
Fouth street is the location for the annual
classic car show, Antique car owners from all over the country
flock to Santa Rosa to participate. Fourth street is blocked
of and the streets are full of people partying and having
a great time. It's a great event and worth checking out
some time. lots of fun.
A great place to start your visit would
be the Sonoma County Museum located in a converted 1909
post office. Here you can uncover the history of Sonoma
County through exhibits and interactive displays. You might
also like to visit Historic Railroad Square with its
rustic basalt stone buildings, coffee houses, antique and
specialty shops.
You can even tour the home and gardens of
famed horticulturist Luther Burbank, who introduced more
than 800 varieties of plants and vegetables to the world.
A resident of Santa Rosa for over 50 years, he dubbed Sonoma
County "the chosen spot of all the earth as far as
nature is concerned."
The Beloved
cartoonist and longtime resident Charles Schulz also left
his mark on Sonoma County. Drawings and personal memorabilia
of Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang are found all over Sonoma
County, and his world famous Snoopy ice arena has been a
favorite spot for children and parents alike.
Santa Rosa offers 400 acres
of parks, or if you prefer to be entertained, cultural arts
venues both large and small make this a cultural arts center
for the county. Aviation enthusiasts won't want to miss
the Pacific Coast Air Museum, where more than 50 years
of aviation is represented, and the annual ballon festival
is incredible as well
