Kenwood..... is located approximately 50 miles North of San Francisco, in the heart of the Northern California wine country. Just East of Santa Rosa about half way to Sonoma. This is a small town that is surrounded by some of the most beautiful wine country in the world.

An ideal location if you like that small town feeling. Located just east of the busy Santa Rosa area, yet not to far. This is a small town community with a few businesses, some great wine country resturants, wineries and tasting rooms, a gas station and the Kenwood Fire Deptartment.

Every year the Kenwood Fire Department puts on the world famous Kenwood Pillow Fights, you can see the 2001 pillow fights by going by visiting the Kenwood Image Gallery.

The Russian River is fairly close, the Pacific ocean is about an hour west, Calistoga spa's are just few miles East, Howarth Park and Springlake are just minutes away, and there is lots of wide open spaces around Kenwood.

These images were all take within a few minutes of the Kenwood Valley. The image on the left is on the backside of Kenwood Valley. The center image is from the center of Kenwood at sunrise looking East over the vineyards. At the right is Spring Lake, where you can hike, camp, ride bikes, swim, boat, and picnic. It's a great place to take the family.

The World Famous Kenwood Pillow Fights

A Full Day Of Fun In The Sun

This was the next to the last year of the pillow fights. It used to take place every 4th of July. It was put on by the Kenwood Fire Department, but do to the expense and liaibility they had to end it. It was definitely a good time, there was a parade in the morning, there was live music and games and great food, and lots of cold beer.

The Pillow Fights started in the morning and went on all day until the finals late in the afternoon. By the time the finals came around everybody was pretty twisted, sunburnt, and ready for fireworks at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. A good time was had by all.
